Turkmenistan sets new tariffs on gas exceeding limit
Turkmenistan has introduced new tariffs for population on gas exceeding limit.
As of February 2014, the cost of natural gas over limits given to the population for free will be 20 manats for 1.000 cubic meters (2,84 manats- $1) including the tax on VAT according to a decree signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The monthly limit of free usage of natural gas per capita in Turkmenistan is 50 cubic meters.
The calculation will be made by special gas meters. According to the decree, this measure has been taken to provide rational usage of natural gas by the population of the country and regulate estimations for gas.
One of the key suppliers of natural gas imported by Russia, China and Iran is Turkmenistan.
