SOCAR to help 44 orphanages in Georgia
The Georgian Representation of Azerbaijan`s state oil firm,
SOCAR, has signed a memorandum with Georgia's Labour, Healthcare
and Social Security Ministry.
The Memo was signed by Mahir Mammadov, head of SOCAR's Tbilisi
office and Georgian Minister David Sergeyenko.
Under the agreement, SOCAR will pay gas and electricity bills of 44
orphanages in Georgia to the total sum of nearly $116,000.
Mahir Mammadov, head of SOCAR's Georgian Representation, said the
company was doing important job in social sector of Georgia.
"We signed the first memorandum with Georgia's Labour, Healthcare
and Social Security Ministry two years ago. Under that agreement we
paid nearly 90,000 laris (more than $54,000) for gas and
electricity bills of 16 orphanages," he added.
Minister Sergeyenko thanked SOCAR for "beneficial cooperation", hailing it as an example of real friendship.
