Turkmenistan to open consulate in Germany
Turkmenistan's president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow has signed a
decree on opening a consulate in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
According to the document, the consulate will serve the purposes of
the further development of bilateral relations between the two
countries and the efficient consulate public service.
German companies like Mannesman, Claas, MAN, Bosch, Bentek,
Siemens, Unionmatex GmbH have already proven themselves in
Turkmenistan.
This list could also include such companies as Thyssen Krupp,
Airbus, Cifal, Knauf, Goetzpartners, Inhar, Textina, Bauer Comp
Holding AG, Lemken GmbH, which are also showing their interest in
Turkmen market.
German companies usually use credits of leading German banks while
realizing large projects in Turkmenistan.
For example, the projects on installation of a gas-compressor
station in Korpeje, construction of lubricant oil and paraffin
producing facilities, as well as the diesel fuel refining facility
in the oil-refining enterprise in Turkmenbashi were realized
according to this format.
In April 2009, Turkmen government signed a long-term memorandum
with one of the leading traders of natural gas on the EU market -
RWE AG, which conducted exploration in the Turkmen sector of the
Caspian Sea and is a shareholder of the Nabucco pipeline
project.
The hydrocarbon resources of Turkmenistan can be connected to this
transnational communication via Caspian Sea thanks to the
construction of a small branch (about 300 kilometres) through the
seabed to the Azerbaijani coast.
Europe hopes to diversify for account of the Caspian resources its
sources of gas consumption, mostly provided by Russia today.
