Russian scientists to create new composite materials for spacecraft engines

Russian scientists intend to conduct work in 2019-2020 to create new composite materials that can be used in spacecraft engines, according to a program of joint work of the Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems and the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences obtained by TASS on Friday.
"Getting composite heatproof materials based on nano-laminate compounds," the document says.
"The materials can be used in spacecraft engines at the gas temperatures of 1900K (no less than five minutes) and 1800K (30 minutes)," it says.
