Azerbaijani army prevents Armenia’s sabotage on frontline

Armenian armed forces continue aggravate the situation on the contact line of Armenian-Azerbaijani troops, despite the international calls to follow the ceasefire agreement and reduce tension on the frontline.
The Armenian reconnaissance and sabotage groups again attempted to cross the line of contact.
Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said on December 9 that the Azerbaijani armed forces destroyed the Armenian reconnaissance and sabotage groups in the south of the Armenian and Azerbaijani frontline on December 8.
The enemy’s movement and approaching was revealed in time thanks to the vigilance of the Azerbaijani servicemen. As a result of the pro-active measures and fierce firefight, the Armenian saboteurs retreated by suffering losses, according to the ministry.
The ministry noted that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces did not suffer any losses. The situation on the frontline is under the control, the statement read.
Armenian reconnaissance and sabotage groups frequently attempt to cross the positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces. However, they every time are forced to retreat with losses.
Recently, Armenian air forces were engaged in provocative moves against the armed forces of Azerbaijan. Two Mi-24 attack helicopters of the Armenian air forces approached and made attack maneuvers in the immediate vicinity of the positions of the Azerbaijani armed forces nearby the village of Kengerly in the occupied Aghdam region on November 12 . One of the helicopters was shot down on the very same occupied territory.
Armenia occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven adjacent regions, after laying territorial claims against its South Caucasus neighbor that caused a brutal war in the early 1990s. Long-standing efforts by U.S., Russian and French mediators have been largely fruitless so far.
As a result of the military aggression of Armenia, over 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed, 4,866 are reported missing and almost 100,000 were injured, and 50,000 were disabled.
The UN Security Council has passed four resolutions on Armenian withdrawal from the Azerbaijani territory, but they have not been enforced to this day.
