'Pomegranate Festival' held in Russia [PHOTO]

The Annual Pomegranate Festival, one of Azerbaijan’s most loved and colorful festivals, was held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, Trend Life reported.
The organizers of the event in Krasnoyarsk were the Azerbaijani National Cultural Community in Krasnoyarsk and Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AMOR), as well as the city's authorities.
This unique and juicy holiday has been celebrated regularly in early November since 2006 around the country and mainly in Goychay.
For one day, the Palace of Labor in Krasnoyarsk turned into turned into the Goychay region of Azerbaijan. Goychay’s pomegranates have gained world fame as the true Azerbaijani pomegranates. The secret of the magnificent taste and quality of the Goychay pomegranates is unique microclimate and fruitful soil.
The event featured exhibition, displaying folk crafts, vivid national dresses etc. The originality and taste of Azerbaijani cuisine has attracted a lot of guests.
The festival continued with impressive performances of Azerbaijani folk song and dance ensemble, and performances of Azerbaijani songs. The celebration also featured various competitions and quizzes.
Saadat Garayeva, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijani National Cultural Community in Krasnoyarsk informed the guests about the festival.
“It is great that the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people, its music, national cuisine, customs and traditions are welcomed here so warmly. That once again demonstrates the centuries-old good neighborly, friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Russia,” she said.
Representatives of the Krasnoyarsk authorities, the House of Friendship, the leaders of national-cultural autonomies and public organizations attended the festivity.
