Unknown Chopin waltz discovered in New York
By Alimat Aliyeva
A previously unknown waltz by Fryderyk Chopin, written almost 2 centuries ago, was discovered in the vault of the Morgan Library and Museum in New York, Azernews reports.
The score on a card with the name of the great composer Fryderyk
Chopin, handwritten, was found by the curator of the museum.
After a forensic examination of ink and paper, as well as an
analysis by graphologists, it was concluded that the work was
written by the hand of one of the leading representatives of
Western European musical romanticism sometime between 1830 and
1835. Although the piece is considered finished, it is shorter than
Chopin's other waltzes - only about 80 seconds.
Fryderyk Chopin was born in the village of Zhelyazova Wola, located near Warsaw, in 1810. From an early age, he showed an interest in music and soon became a piano virtuoso. Already at an early age, he won recognition as an outstanding performer and a gifted composer. He passed away at the age of 39 in Paris, leaving behind about 250 pieces of music.
