New bicycle stands appear in Baku

Bicycles are the most innovative and ecological public mean of transport.
A bicycle renting automated system adds many advantages for moving in the city, becoming the best option for people who want to make short routes and save money as well.
IDEA, the International Dialogue for Environmental Action Public Association, continues its project “IDEA Bicycle Stand” to encourage people in Baku to use this mode of transport in the country.
The project aims to promote this environmentally friendly transport among the population. Unusual design of the stands also draws attention. Colored in blue tone these cycle parkings encourage many to turn this two-wheel friend into the part of people’s social life.
The first stand was set in front of the “The Club” club, located in the Port Baku trade complex on May 26. The project is jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation and “GreenCar”, the electric vehicles centre.
IDEA doesn’t rest on its laurels and is going to increase the number of bicycle stands up to 100 further. IDEA plans to set such stands near the Heydar Aliyev Center and State Flag Square.

The IDEA is implementing some large-scale local and international projects to protect the environment and to promote innovative approaches towards solving environmental problems, collaboration with youth.
During its operation the organization has fulfilled various projects, from tree planting activity for young environmentalists and ordinary students, to the international photo contest for children “Children’s Eyes on Earth”, represented by 1200 participants from 5 continents and 90 countries.
