Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri and new Turkish Ambassador Zeki Levent Gumrukcu discussed the priority areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

In particular, the intensification of the Georgian-Turkish trade and economic partnership, growth of the traffic flow and other issues were discussed at the meeting.

Particular attention was paid to the development of mechanisms for effective management of customs checkpoints.

Turkey began constructing the new customs checkpoint Childir / Aktas in November 2013. The Georgian side will reconstruct a Kartsakhi checkpoint in August 2014. It also became known that Turkey plans to expand the infrastructure at the Sarpi customs point on its territory.

The parties discussed a wide range of cooperation issues in the customs sphere.
