The development of the health sector demonstrates the overall development of any country. As the funds allocated to this sphere reflect the policy and intention of the state.

President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks during the opening of the Heart Center under the Republican Treatment and Diagnostic Center in Baku on March 6. First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also attended the opening ceremony.

Congratulating the staff on the occasion of the opening of the "Heart Center", President Aliyev said that the center meets the most modern standards.

“I can say that this center is worth the highest approval at the international level. Its construction, internal design and, of course, equipment and modern technologies - everything here is organized at a high level,” he said.

The head of state noted that the Center has been doing a tremendous job in the life of the country and for the health of people for the past five years.

“Hundreds of thousands of people received treatment here. The most modern technologies are applied here. Local and foreign doctors show their professionalism, and the main thing is that the patients are provided with high-level services,” the president said.

President Aliyev also spoke of the great work done in Azerbaijan in recent years in the field of public health.

“We have already created logistics base in the field of health. Today, complicated surgery operations are carried out in Azerbaijan, and today both the logistics and the quality of our health care system are improving significantly,” President Aliyev said.

These changes are also noticed by international structures, the president added.

“The World Health Organization appreciated the work done in this field. This is manifested in statistical indicators. So, the life expectancy of people is increasing and maternal and infant mortality is declining. This is one of the main indicators of the health system,” he clarified.

An Azerbaijani citizen is the center of our policy, according to President Aliyev, who noted that people's health is one of the priority issues in the social sphere.

“We will continue to take additional measures in the field of health. Establishment of such wonderful centers demonstrates the overall development of our country,” he added.

The center aims to introduce high quality services of prophylaxis, diagnostics and treatment of heart diseases, their early diagnosis and treatment on international standards. This medical institution is also equipped with technologies and equipment based on the latest scientific and technological achievements.
