Azerbaijan, UAE discuss agricultural cooperation
Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates have explored prospects
for agricultural cooperation as Minister of Agriculture Heydar
Asadov met with a delegation of Dubai-based MBM Group.
During the meeting, they discussed opportunities for attracting UAE
investment in Azerbaijan`s agriculture scetor.
The minister hailed the development of political and economic relations between two countries.
He also emphasized “wide” potential for cooperation in the agricultural sector.
“Azerbaijan has 9 out 11 climatic zones. There is a favorable investment environment in the country, which also has great export potential,” he said.
The two sides discussed the creation of agricultural parks, pesticides production enterprises, logistics centers for keeping and trading the livestock products, export of Azerbaijan-made agricultural products to the UAE and other countries.
MBM Group Corporate Affairs Director Federico Carvellini expressed the company`s keenness to cooperate with Azerbaijan, pointing to the country`s strategic location between Asia and Europe, its development and the leadership`s attention to agriculture.
He reaffirmed MBM Group`s interest in providing technical and financial assistance for the development of agriculture in Azerbaijan.
Carvellini said that MBM Group will submit a proposal to the Ministry of Agriculture with the aim of investing in restructuring the infrastructure of Azerbaijan`s agriculture and creating agricultural parks in the country.
