Azerbaijani president receives credentials of several incoming ambassadors

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received credentials of incoming
ambassador of the Netherlands to the country Robert Jan Gabrielsen,
Azertag state news agency reported on Sept.3.
The Ambassador reviewed a guard of honor before presenting his
credentials to President Aliyev. President Aliyev and the
Ambassador had a meeting.
Gabrielsen said he was deeply impressed by development processes in
the capital Baku. He conveyed best wishes of His Majesty King
Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands to the Azerbaijani people.
They noted the existence of good potential for development of
bilateral relations between the two countries, and stressed the
importance of mutual projects in versatile fields to boost these
contacts.
The President and the Ambassador exchanged views on expansion of
Azerbaijan-Netherlands cooperation within the European Union and
strengthening of bilateral relations in the years ahead.
On the same day, President Aliyev received credentials of
incoming Greek ambassador to the country Dimitrios Tsoungas.
Tsoungas inspected a ceremonial guard of honor before handing over
his credentials to President Aliyev.
The Azerbaijani President and the Greek ambassador had a
conversation.
Tsoungas recalled as fruitful a visit of Greek President Karolos
Papoulias to Azerbaijan.
Stressing the existence of big potential for expansion of
relations, the diplomat said he would make every effort towards
strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
The Head of State hailed successful development of bilateral
relations between Azerbaijan and Greece. He recalled the visit of
Greek President Karolos Papoulias to Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev expressed confidence Azerbaijan-Greece relations
would strengthen even further in a variety of fields, including
economics, politics, energy, education and culture.
President Aliyev also received credentials of newly appointed
ambassador of Italy Giampaolo Cutillo.
The Ambassador passed along a ceremonial guard of honor. The
Azerbaijani President had a conversation with the diplomat.
The Head of State praised the Azerbaijan-Italy relationship, saying
it reached a level of close partnership.
President Aliyev recalled a recent visit of Italian Prime Minister
Enrico Letta to Azerbaijan. He said the visit saw important
discussions between the two countries on a variety of issues,
praising the contribution of the visit to strengthening the
bilateral ties.
The Head of the State also hailed the great potential for boosting
the bilateral relations in the fields of investment making, economy
and energy.
The Ambassador praised rapid development processes in
Azerbaijan.
Cutillo stressed the importance of the Italian Premier's visit to
Azerbaijan. He also noted the significance of expanding the
bilateral ties and cooperation in the fields of energy, trade,
reciprocal investment making, culture, tourism and civil society
building.
He said he would spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening
relationship between the two countries.
They also exchanged views on the issues of bilateral cooperation
within the European Union.
Furthermore, President Aliyev received credentials of incoming
ambassador of Belgium
Carine Petit.
The Ambassador reviewed a ceremonial guard of honor before presenting her credentials to President Aliyev.
President Aliyev and the Belgian ambassador then had a meeting.
Praising the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Belgium,
the Azerbaijani president expressed his confidence that these
relations would expand even further.
The Head of State stressed the importance of successful activities
of Belgian companies in Azerbaijan.
The President said there were good opportunities for development of economic and political ties between the two countries, and also hailed the Azerbaijan-Belgium cooperation within the European Union.
Petit recalled the meeting between the Azerbaijani President and King Philippe of Belgium. The Belgian diplomat underlined the significance of the Azerbaijan-Belgium cooperation.
They discussed prospects for expansion of the bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, trade, non-oil sector, education, tourism and agriculture.
