Quakes jolt Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan
A 4.9-magnitude earthquake hit Turkmenistan, 170 kilometers southeast Tashkent, according to data from the Tashkent seismic station.
Tremors were felt in Uzbekistan at 9:37 (GMT +5 hours) on February 3.
The power of the tremors in Tashkent was equal to 2 points and in Almalyk – to 2-3 points.
According to the data from the Uzbek Ministry of Emergency Situations, a quake of magnitude 4.2 happened at 23:35 Feb. 2 in the Uzbek Jizzakh province, 204 kilometers to the west from Tashkent.
The power of the tremors in Jizzakh and Samarkand was 2 points and in Tashkent – 1 point.
