Baku normally regards the hearings on Azerbaijan in the US House of Representatives, the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, to be held in Washington Feb. 12, the Head of the Public and Political Issues Department of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov told reporters.
Hasanov said that the parliament and NGOs of Azerbaijan hold discussion and hearings in general or in connection with the processes in certain countries.
"In case of necessity, as a government, we can hold such hearings,” he said. “In the world dominated by democratic norms and a policy of pluralism, it is impossible to blame someone for such incidents. Let the US objectively analyze and express its attitude towards the situation in Azerbaijan."
Hasanov said that Azerbaijan is also objectively analyzing and expressing its attitude towards the processes in the US.
"These hearings just have fundamental aspects,” Hasanov said. “Not only anti-Azerbaijani forces, but also people knowing and objectively assessing the situation in Azerbaijan must be invited for these hearings. The discussion must be neutral, rather than unilateral.”
