Ayatollah Khamenei says some states 'don’t want nuclear issue to be solved'

Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on June 26 that some countries that form an anti-Iran front and falsely call themselves the global society don't want the nuclear issue to be resolved.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that it is only because of these countries' stubbornness that the issue is not yet resolved.

He went on to add that if these countries' quit their stubbornness, resolving the issue would be easy.

"On several occasions the issue was near to being resolved, but each time the U.S. brought up new excuses," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

He further said that, "according to a document signed by The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the problems in Iran's case are solved so the case should have been closed, but the U.S. immediately presented new accusations, because they think that Iran's nuclear programme presents them with a good opportunity to put pressure on Iran.

"Iran's nuclear programme is clear and based on the international laws," he said.

"In their secret letters the enemies always say they don't want to change the establishment, but their actions show their true intentions which is opposite to their claims," he said.

"They don't care about the nuclear issue, democracy, human rights, or anything else. They just want to hinder the Iranian nation's progress. But the Islamic republic will defend the country's rights," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
