Iran to launch early production at Kish field

Iran will start early production at the Kish gas field by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2014), field's Development Project Manager Homayoun Kazemeini said.

The development plan of the Kish gas field, which is the largest non-shared natural gas field in the country, started in 2007. The field holds around 66 trillion cubic feet of in-situ gas and 514 million barrels of condensates, the Shana News Agency reported.

Kazemeini said that the early production plan aims to yield 100 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.

The field is projected to yield 85 million cubic meters of natural gas and 30,000 barrels of gas condensates per day.

Earlier, Former Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Company Ahmad Qalebani said that the infrastructure development and drilling operations are well underway at the gas field.

He said that two drilling rigs are operating at the onshore section of the field.

To date, 13 wells have been drilled across the gas field.
