Mehriban Aliyeva visits education facilities for children

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva visited new blocks of education facilities for children No.110 and 172 in the Nizami district of Baku on June 1 – the International Day for Protection of Children.

Mehriban Aliyeva first toured the new building of Nursery-kindergarten No.110.

Kindergarten No.110 has been operating since 1965. 220 children are educated here in 12 distinct groups. The facility has been repaired within the framework of “the State Programme for social and economic development of the city of Baku and its settlements in 2011-2013”.

Based on the “Development of preschool establishments” program of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the construction of an additional building started in August 2014.

Now, 80 children are taken care of in 4 groups in the new building. Professional pedagogical staff is engaged in the education of children here. Children’s comfort, rest and mastering of new knowledge are fully ensured in this facility.

Meeting with children, Mehriban Aliyeva talked with them. She wished both children and staff great many successes.

Then, the first lady visited Kindergarten No.172. Operating since 1971, this child education establishment has been repaired within the framework of “the State Program for social and economic development of the city of Baku and its settlements in 2011-2013”.

Construction of a two-storey additional building designed for 80 children in 4 groups, with a total area of 1,152 square meters, started based on the “Development of preschool establishments” program of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and its construction has been completed since August 2014.

Now, 230 children are educated here in 12 groups.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Azerbaijani government are working closely with UNICEF and jointly develop various projects and reforms at the state level to protect children and childhood.
