The Competitiveness Leaders - National Champions program was launched in the spring of this year in order to create a pool of leading companies.

The aim of the program is to create competitive, export-oriented production of non-primary sector by forming companies of the regional and global level in Kazakhstan.

Some 300 successful Kazakh companies selected the National Champions as representative of the country in the foreign market on October 28.

Currently, financial support of eight companies in the amount of 16 billion tenge has already been approved. “In 2018, total revenue of 28 selected companies is expected to increase by 170 billion tenge. As a result, there will be created about five thousand workplaces, non-oil exports will be increased by 35.5 billion,” said the speaker.

In the end, there will be produced the import substitution of products expressed in 66 billion tenge.

Baiterek Holding chose the Malaysian model to support companies as a basis for the formation of the national champions of Kazakhstan among midsize and large businesses.

Development of the program and its implementation was carried out together with the experts from the international consulting company McKinsey & Company, which has experience in concept development and implementation of similar programs in Singapore, Malaysia, Germany and France.
