Iranian MP urges Western states to reveal their plans in Almaty talks
A senior Iranian la.wmaker Mohammad Hossein Asafari on Sunday
referred to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's
remarks on next round of talks between Iran and G5+1 in his speech
in the holy city of Mashhad on the first day of the Iranian New
year, saying now itˈs the turn of six major powers to make clear
their plans.
Speaking to IRNA news agency, he said that Iran is a signatory to
the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and western powers should
recognize Iranˈs nuclear rights including right to enrich
uranium.
Asafari, who is a member of National Security and Foreign Policy
Commission of Iran's Majlis (parliament), said that Iran is not
after producing nuclear weapons and condemns any kind of use of
such weapons.
If G5+1 insists on its demands from Iran to give up its nuclear
rights, "we may revise our views and postpone negotiations", he
added.
The next round of talks between Iran and G5+1 is to be held for the
second time in Almaty, Kazakhstan on April 5. The previous round of
talks was held in the same city on Feb 26-27. A technical round of
negotiation was also held between experts of the two sides in
Istanbul on March 18.
