Azerbaijani team in final of FIP Arena Polo European Championship
Azerbaijan’s team has reached the finals of the 1st FIP Arena Polo European Championship running in Baku, the Equestrian Federation of Azerbaijan told Trend.
Competitions are held in the Elite Horse equestrian club and Polo Club of Baku’s Bina settlement. The championship involves six teams: Azerbaijan, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and Ireland.
The national team of Azerbaijan won four matches in a row of the group event and secured itself a place in the finals by scoring eight points. The opponent of Azerbaijani team in the finals will be determined Sept.11. Azerbaijan-Spain, Germany-Switzerland and Italy-Ireland matches will be held in the last round of the group event.
The final match will begin at 8:30 p.m. (GMT + 5 hours) on September 12. The matches for the fifth-sixth places and the bronze medals of the tournament will take place earlier that day.
The famous singer Lou Bega will perform as a special guest of the competition following the award and closing ceremonies of the tournament.
