Russia voluntarily withdraws from the Council of Europe, Vice-Speaker of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy said, Trend reports citing Russian media.
A letter from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Russia's withdrawal from the Council of Europe was handed over to the organization's Secretary General, he added.
