Uzbekistan to open trading house in Russia

The Uzbek-Russian projects in the trade and economic sphere and the strengthening of cooperation between the regions of the two countries give reason to believe about a breakthrough, an unprecedented rise of relations between Uzbekistan and Russia.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia together with the Namangan-based company Dilrabo SDA is working on the issue of opening a trading house in the Samara region.

The Trade House is expected to launch its activities in 2020.

The institution aims to import finished garments from Uzbekistan with further sale in the market of Russian regions.

The project is implemented within the framework of agreements reached during the Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in October 2018. The cost of the project is $ 2 million. The partner from the Russian side is Samara Textile Company LLC.

Representatives of Dilrabo SDA visited the Samara region in order to discuss the stages of the project and joint measures for the accelerated commissioning of the facility in March.

Diplomatic relations between Russia and Uzbekistan were established on March 20, 1992.

The trade turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan in 2018 increased by 21 percent to $5.7 billion.

The structure of Russia's exports to Uzbekistan includes metals and products, wood and pulp and paper products, machinery, equipment and vehicles, food products and agricultural raw materials, mineral products, chemical products.

The structure of imports of Russia from Uzbekistan includes textiles and footwear, chemical products, machinery, food products and agricultural raw materials, metals and products from them.

Cooperation in the investment sphere occupies an important place in Russian-Uzbek relations, including through the implementation of large-scale joint projects in the fuel and energy complex, including joint geological exploration, development of hydrocarbon deposits in the territory of Uzbekistan and its transportation.

Examples of the dynamic development of trade and economic relations are also the areas of information and communication technologies, railway transport and processing of agricultural products.
