Army Games- 2017 wrap up in Kazakhstan

The closing ceremony of the International Army Games – 2017 was held at the Otar military base near Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Defense Minister of Kazakhstan General-Colonel Saken Zhassuzakov, who oversaw the ceremony noted that the Games facilitate cooperation and help to promote friendship between armies in general and servicemen in particular, and congratulated the winners, Kazinform reported on August 9 citing the Kazakh Defense Ministry.
In total, around 400 servicemen from 18 countries took part in three competitions of the International Army Games that were held on the territory of Kazakhstan during August 1 - 9. These were "Sniper frontier," "Masters of artillery fire" and "Drone competition" contests.
In the “Sniper frontier” contest, the team of Kazakh Armed Forces became the first, the team of Russia was the second and Belarus third.
As for the “Masters of artillery fire” competition, Kazakhstan was first, Belarus second and Russia took the third place.
Kazakhstan also won the “Drone competition,” while Russia became the second and Iran third.
The winners were awarded at the event with cups, medals, diplomas, and prizes. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Games participants were presented a celebratory concert.
The International Army Games - 2017 started in Russia on July 29. The Games, which are attended by more than 150 teams from 28 countries, are hosted by Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and China, and will continue until August 12.
