Israeli city’s alley to bear Heydar Aliyev’s name

An alley named after Azerbaijan’s late national
leader, former President Heydar Aliyev will be built in Hadera,
Israel. The city’s municipality has passed the decision following
an appeal by the Israel-based Azerbaijan-Israel International
Association, according to the State Committee for Work with the
Diaspora.
At the alley, to be located on the Ahad ha-Am Street downtown, the cornerstone of Heydar Aliyev’s memory plaque will be laid, and the alley will be named after him. The Israeli government will carry out an overhaul at the site, which will encompass 3,800 square meters. The opening ceremony will be held in early May.
Hadera is a major Israeli city located in the Haifa District, with a population of about 100,000 people. The city, which is located close to the capital Tel-Aviv, is home to a large community of people who come from Azerbaijan.*
