British Prime Minister David Cameron has appointed new sales representative of UK in Azerbaijan, according to the website of UK Trade and Investment Department.

A member of the British Parliament, Charles Henry was appointed to the position of sales representative. He will be the representative on trade in Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan as well.

"If we are going to win the international competition for the work, trade and investment, we have to show the world the creativity and dynamism of our country, and I am pleased that the members of parliament have agreed to share their experiences in promoting British business," Cameron said.

To promote economic relations at the international level, new diplomatic representatives from Britain on trade were appointed also to Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Indonesia, Palestine, Algeria and other countries.

They have the task of promoting trade in these countries through British companies with emerging markets and high rates of economic growth.

UK Trade and Investment Department was founded in 1999 and is working with UK companies to ensure their success in international markets, as well as attract major foreign companies to cooperate with UK.

According to data for the first nine months of 2012, the UK has invested 990.5 million manat in Azerbaijan, which is 48.8 percent of the total foreign investments in Azerbaijan.
