Bayern Munich generated more than a fifth of the total revenue in Germany’s 18-club Bundesliga soccer league last year, cementing the team’s financial dominance.

The 529 million euros ($615 million) in sales that the record 24-time German champion generated in the 2013-14 season compared with the 2.5 billion euros made by all teams in the top division. The Bundesliga said today in a statement that 13 clubs reported a profit, one more than a year earlier.

Germany built on the success of its teams in the previous season, when Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund reached the final of Europe’s premier Champions League club competition, by winning the 2014 soccer World Cup in Brazil. German teams spent an average of 37 percent of revenue on wages last season, less than the European average of 65 percent.

“German professional football has laid a solid financial foundation in recent years upon which it has built excellent sporting progress,” Christian Seifert, chief executive officer of Deutsche Fussball Liga GmbH, said in the statement. “The future continues to look positive.”

The Bundesliga sealed a deal in October 2013 with 21st Century Fox Inc. to broadcast games in North America, Latin America and Asia. Those transmissions, which started in October 2014, will help boost clubs’ revenue.
