By Trend
Turkey has become a member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Maritime and Communications told Trend on December 2.
The ministry said that Turkey’s membership in the IMO will strengthen the country’s role in shipping.
The IMO was established in Geneva on March 6, 1948, when the Convention on Intergovernmental Maritime Consultative Organization (IMCO) was adopted.
