Armenian armed forces continue provocations on the contact line of Armenian-Azerbaijani troops.

The enemy troops shelled the Gapanli village from the positions near the occupied village Seysulan of Azerbaijan's Terter region. Shelling continued for half an hour, Trend's regional correspondent reported on August 5.

The shelling was silenced with return fire of the Azerbaijani army.

The ceasefire on Armenian-Azerbaijani contact line was broken 99 times by the Armenian armed forces during last 24 hours, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said on August 6.

The ceasefire was violated in Munjuglu, Alibayli and Aghdam villages of Tovuz region, nameless hills of Gadabay region, nameless hills of Gaymagli, Kemerli, Ferehli, and Gizilhajili villages of Gazakh region, Kohnagishlag village of Agstafa region, Yusifjanli, Shikhlar, Bash Garvand, Sarijali and Kengerli villages of Aghdam region, Gorgan, Garakhanbayli, Ashagi Veysalli, Ashagi Seyidahmadli and Ashagi Abdurrahmanli villages of Fuzuli region, Goyarkh, Chayli, Chilaburt and Gizil Oba villages of Terter region, Tap Garagoyunlu village of Goranboy region, Mehdili village of Jabrayil region and nameless hills of Khojavend region on August 5 and on the night of August 6.

The Armenians were silenced with a retail fire, the ministry said.

The Armenian armed forces have intensified the ceasefire violations on the contact line of Armenian and Azerbaijani troops during the recent days. The Armenian troops breached the ceasefire more than 100 times a day on average during the last several days.

The Armenian reconnaissance and sabotage groups attacked the Azerbaijani army's positions in different directions of the contact line and border from July 31 to August 1, which caused outbreak of heavy clashes between the troops of the two countries.

The Azerbaijani army was deployed immediately along the frontline following Armenia's forces attempts to cross the contact line. The units of the Azerbaijani armed forces repelled the enemy attacks and the Armenian forces retreated after heavy losses.

The Azerbaijani army lost 13 servicemen in the heavy battles in the history of the ceasefire. Several others were also injured. Despite what is said by Armenian sources, they suffered more losses.

The precarious cease-fire between Azerbaijan and Armenia was reached after a lengthy war that displaced over a million Azerbaijanis and has been in place between the two South Caucasus countries since 1994.

Since the hostilities, Armenian armed forces have occupied over 20 percent of Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territory, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.

The UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on Armenia's withdrawal from the Azerbaijani territory, but they have not been enforced to this day.
