“Day of Azerbaijan” marked in Cairo
The "Day of Azerbaijan" was organized in the Cairo University by the Azerbaijani embassy in Egypt.
The event brought together teaching staff and students of the University, AzerTag state news agency reported.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Shahin Abdullayev briefed the Egyptian teacher and students on his country's achievements made in recent years and presidential elections held this October.
The envoy highlighted the Azerbaijani people's national struggle for independence, role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in modern history of the country, accomplishments gained under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Later, Abdullayev responded to questions of students, who were interested in political, economic and cultural life of Azerbaijan.
The event participants also saw a film on Azerbaijan.
