Allahshukur Pashazade awarded gold medal of Crans Montana Forum

Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade was awarded gold medal for his peaceful activities at the meeting "Improving the peaceful and structuring role of religions" held as a part of the 15th annual session of Crans Montana Forum in Brussels, Belgium.
Opening the event, ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri gave floor to Allahshukur Pashazade to speak first.
Passing warm greetings and good wishes of the Azerbaijani people and the Caucasus Muslims to the event participants, Pashazade said that all of the people, regardless of nationality or religion, are the children of humanity and their primary responsibility is to achieve peace and prosperity.
He emphasized the need for a sense of personal responsibility of religious leaders in the sphere and brought to the attention the possibility of solving all the problems in their own countries and around the world due to the high authority of religious leaders and their joint cooperation with government officials.
Citing Azerbaijan as a successful example of tolerance for the world, Allahshukur Pashazade said Azerbaijan plays a role of a bridge between different civilizations today.
Pashazade also spoke about existence of the warm relations between religious institutions of Azerbaijan, development of high level relations between the state and religion and tsuccessful continuation of this tradition established by national leader Heydar Aliyev by President Ilham Aliyev.
Speaking about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Pashazade said that as a religious leader he endorses all efforts for resolving this problem within the framework of international law and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Later ,Allahshukur Pashazade was awarded gold medal of the Crans Montana Forum, which honors individuals who have high authority in the world due their activities in the world.
Prince Jean de Luxembourg highlighted the merits of the Sheikh-ul-Islam in the peacekeeping activities.
Expressing gratitude for the medal, Pashazade regarded the award as an estimate of the merits of all the clergy of the Caucasus.
The Crans Montana Forum is an international organization, established in 1986, and works in close cooperation with institutional partners such as UN, UNESCO, UNIDO, ISESCO, NATO, the European Union, the Council of Europe, OFID and major international groups.
Main objective of the forum is contribution to the organization of direct contacts between business, government and political leaders of various countries, particularly the development of dialogue and cooperation between Western Europe and CEE countries.
