WB aims to expand scope of ASAN service

The World Bank is ready to implement a project to improve the performance of the ASAN service, WB Baku office head Larisa Leshchenko said on October 3.
The first ASAN Service center, which successfully ensures coordinated provision of services by state bodies, was established under the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan in January.
According to Leshchenko, the bank has already discussed the possibility of participating in such a project. The WB aims to expand the coverage of the service for every Azerbaijani citizen to have access to the government's high quality and efficient services.
"We are ready to assist this organization in expanding the range of services, improving the software and constructing new regional centers," Leshchenko added.
Moreover, the WB in the report on promoting entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan suggested expanding the ASAN service's credentials and effectively rendering services on the issuance of permits for doing business.
The ASAN service centers provide banking and insurance services, legal aid; there are a translation center, a laboratory, a medical service, Internet cafes, post offices, and photo studios in the centers.
The centers render access to 25 services that are provided by nine state entities without extra expenses and loss of time. The centers are open from 10:00 AM until 20:00 PM and until 17:00 PM on Sundays.
In addition, ASAN has 22 auxiliary services, including opening bank accounts, currency exchange, banking services for payment of state fees and penalties, real estate and car insurance, legal advice, medical services, and translation services.
