The Azerbaijani Army continues large-scale military exercises that started on April 16.
The troops arrived in concentration area and their groupings were completed on April 18, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry reported.
Combat performance has been organized at the command and control posts of the troops. All headquarters clarify the tasks, assess the situation, make decisions and give appropriate orders to the troops.
Later in the day, the previously made decisions were refined on the terrain model board and on the terrain itself where the interoperability of troops was organized during the next stage of the exercises.
The issues of command and control as well as interoperability of troops were elaborated in detail.
The exercises are held to inspect combat readiness of troops in line with the plan approved by Azerbaijan’s President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.
About 30,000 servicemen are participating in the drills that will continue until April 21. Also, more than 250 tanks and armored vehicles, up to 200 missiles and artillery systems, multiple launch rocket systems and mortars, and 25 combat aircraft are involved in the drills.
