By Nazrin Gadimova
An exhibition reflecting Azerbaijan's ancient history and rich culture opened in the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Paris on May 17.
The event was organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in France as part of the Long Night of Museums celebrations which is marked in many countries around the world.
National women's and men's suits, various kinds of weapons, copper and ceramic vessels, as well as small carpets, saddlebags, jewelry, and so on were put on display during the exhibition.
Visitors were given the books published by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and pamphlets on the Azerbaijani culture and art.
The Long Night of Museums is a cultural event in which museums and cultural institutions remain open late into the night. It was first marked in Berlin in 1997.
The idea has been very well received, and since then the number of participating institutions and exhibitions marking the night has risen dramatically, spreading to over 120 other cities throughout Europe, as well as elsewhere, in Argentina and the Philippines.
During this night, visitors are given a common entrance pass which grants them access to all exhibits as well as complimentary public transportation.
