Ennio Morricone to give concert with Azerbaijani orchestra in Baku

World-renowned composer, conductor and pianist Ennio Morricone will give a concert at Heydar Aliyev Palace in Baku.

The concert in the capital Baku is planned for January 25, 2014.

Magnificent musician Morricone will conduct the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli accompanied by the State Choir Capella, the concert organizers said.

Baku audience will have a possibility to enjoy the best music pieces by Maestro.

The concert is dedicated to Morricone's 85th anniversary, widely celebrated around the world.

Morricone has a long artistic career, which includes a wide range of composition genres, from absolute music, which he has always produced, to applied music, working as orchestrator as well as conductor in the recording field, and then as a composer for theatre, radio and cinema, Morricone's official website said.

He started his protrude film music composer career in 1961 and became worldwide famous with Sergio Leone's westerns "A Fistful Of Dollars" (1964), "For A Few Dollars More" (1965), "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" (1966), "Once Upon A Time In The West" (1968) and "A Fistful Of Dynamite" (1971).

Ennio Morricone has conducted many orchestras worldwide, including the Orchestra of the Santa Cecilia Academy, for many symphonic seasons.

He also conducted the Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus of La Scala Theatre, the Rome Opera House Orchestra, the Budapest Opera House Orchestra, the Orquesta Nacionales de Espana (ONE), the National Brazilian Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio Munich Rundfunk, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra and Chorus of the Spanish Television.
