Baku has hosted a republican meeting dedicated to Azerbaijani youth and athletes' support for Ilham Aliyev's candidacy at the presidential election to be held on April 11.

At the beginning of the event, the national anthem of Azerbaijan was played, followed by a documentary film on the activities of President Ilham Aliyev.

Seymur Huseynov, the moderator of the meeting, the chairman of the National Assembly of the Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan, spoke about the attention and care for youth and athletes in the country.

Rasul Chunayev, a well-known Azerbaijani athlete in the Greco-Roman wrestling, the bronze medalist of the Rio Olympics, told about his success in the sports, stressing that this success was achieved as a result of attention given to athletes by President Ilham Aliyev.

“All representatives of Azerbaijani youth will vote for President Ilham Aliyev for our further victories,” said Chunayev.

Famous Azerbaijani football player Mahir Madatov spoke about the success he achieved in the sports, about attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev for athletes in Azerbaijan.

Expressing gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev on behalf of athletes, Madatov urged youth and athletes to vote for Ilham Aliyev for the comprehensive development of Azerbaijan.

The 6th congress of the New Azerbaijan Party was held in the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku Feb. 8. The decision was made during the congress to nominate chairman of the party, Ilham Aliyev, as a presidential candidate. The decision was unanimously adopted.
