Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow received Executive Vice President of Japanese Sony Corporation Shoji Nemoto, who introduced a number of new business proposals, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper wrote on July 17.

According to the newspaper, Sony is ready to expand its presence in the Turkmen market, including further development of the logistics base of media, delivery of communications systems, medical equipment, and equipment for the fast-growing leisure industry and cultural entertainment.

Another topic was the possible involvement of the company in the preparation and conduct of the upcoming 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games to be held in Ashgabat.

"Innovative, outstripping production of Sony, which affected not only the rapid development of the Japanese economy, but also the nature and characteristics of life all around the world, has become a kind of guarantee of quality and reliability," Berdimuhamedov said at the meeting.

Nemoto emphasized the great interest of Japanese business circles in the establishment of full cooperation with Turkmenistan.

The prospects of business partnership are scheduled to discuss in the framework of the forthcoming official visit of Turkmen President to Japan. Sony Corporation is preparing a special extended presentation of the latest innovative developments and achievements of the company for Berdimuhamedow.

Impetus to the relations of Turkmenistan with Japan was given by the official visit Berdimuhamedow to Tokyo in 2009, when a number of intergovernmental agreements and contracts with JGC Corporation, ITOCHU Corporation, Kawasaki Plant Systems, Ltd and Sojitz Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Corporation, Sojitz Corporation and Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation was signed.

Tokyo believes that the high technology of Japan and the rich natural resources of Turkmenistan are complementary.

A number of projects in Turkmenistan are implemented by a commercial loan of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). The traditional form of cooperation between Japan and Turmenistan includes shipments of modern road construction and earth moving equipment from Japan.
