Azerbaijani, Russian, Armenian FMs to meet with OSCE MG in Moscow

By Rashid Shirinov
The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia will meet with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in Moscow, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova informed during a briefing on April 27.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the ministers of the three countries will hold a meeting in Moscow, dedicated to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, on April 28.
“At certain stage, the ministers will be joined by co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and personal representative of the OSCE chairperson-in-office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk,” Zakharova said at the briefing.
She added that it is expected to clarify the parties' positions on the problematic aspects and determine further steps in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The negotiation process over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution has stagnated since June 2016 due to the refusal of Yerevan to continue serious talks.
Armenia broke out a lengthy war against Azerbaijan by laying territorial claims on its South Caucasus neighbor. Since a war in the early 1990s, Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan's territory, including Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and over 1 million were displaced as a result of the large-scale hostilities.
Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from the Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding districts.
