An architectural presentation of the Heydar Aliyev Center will be held in Baku on November 5, the center said.

The center was established under a presidential decree in December 2006. The groundbreaking of the facility was held on September 10, 2007, and the construction work lasted five years. The official opening took place on May 10, 2012.

The designer of the center, world-famous Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid, as well as other well-known architects from numerous countries, are due to attend the presentation ceremony.

They will familiarize themselves with the building of the Heydar Aliyev Center, which has been recognized as one of the best architectural projects in recent years.

The event is considered to be a significant one in terms of emphasizing the role of the Heydar Aliyev Center building in world architecture.

The center aims to conduct consistent activities in the area of profound research and vast promotion of the nation-building philosophy and Azerbaijanism ideology of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of the Azerbaijani people and former President, as well as encourage studies in the Azerbaijani history, language, culture, national and spiritual values.

The center has now become a venue for major exhibitions and concerts held in Baku.

A new photo session of the center was held shortly before the presentation.

The center's building has a unique architecture embodying the dynamic development of Azerbaijan. Its shape represents not only a post-modern style of architecture, but also length and infinity. The lines on the building symbolize the connection between the past and future. There are no straight lines in its composition.

The white color of the building symbolizes a bright future and is used to highlight specific elements.

A network of iron structures with a total length of 90 kilometers was created during the construction. While installing a 40,000 square meter roof 12,027 special panels of different sizes and forms such as triangles, rectangles, trapezoids and parallelograms were used.

The main building of the center consists of three sections. The first one includes the Heydar Aliyev Museum, while the second one has a nine-storey exhibition hall.

There are exhibition halls, administrative offices and a cafe. The third section includes a four-storey auditorium. There are two conference rooms, rooms for formal meetings and gatherings and a media center.

Zaha Hadid is the first woman who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2004, and was the Stirling Prize laureate in 2010 and 2011.

Her buildings are characteristic with distinctive futurism, with powerful, and curving forms, multiple perspective points and fragmented geometry.
