Kazakh president approves new Cabinet of Ministers

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has appointed the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The presidential decree says Bakytzhan Sagintayev has been appointed First Deputy Prime Minister. Gulshara Abdykalikova will serve as the Deputy Prime Minister, Asset Issekeshev as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and New Technologie, Bakhyt Sultanov as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Asylzhan Mamytbekov as Agriculture Minister, Berik Imashev as Minister of Justice, Aslan Sarinzhipov as Education and Science Minister, Salidat Kairbekova as Minister of Health, Tamara Duisenova as Labor and Social Protection Minister, Jenis Kasymbek as Minister of Transport and Communications, Nurlan Kapparov as Environment and Water Resources Minister, Arystanbek Muhamediuly as Minister of Culture, Uzakbai Karabalin as Oil and Gas Minister, Bolat Zhamishev as Minister of Regional Development, Erlan Idrisov as Foreign Minister, Vladimir Bozhko as Minister of Emergency Situations, Kalmukhanbet Kassymov as Interior Minister, Erbolat Dossayev as Minister of Economy and Budget Planning, Zhanar Aytzhanova as Economic Integration Minister and Askar Zhumagaliyev as Chairman of Communications and Information Agency.

The Kazakh government resigned on April 2.

Karim Massimov was appointed the country's prime minister. He replaced Serik Akhmetov in this post.

Another presidential decree, issued on April 3 reads that ex-Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov was appointed the Defense Minister.
