Official: Azerbaijan, Ukraine actively cooperate, exchange experience in military sector

The Defense Ministries of Ukraine and Azerbaijan actively cooperate and exchange experience, said Igor Pavlovsky, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister.
Pavlovsky, talking to Report on May 1, said that the ministry’s delegation has recently visited Azerbaijan.
“Very important documents were signed between the governments of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, and all the prospects of our cooperation in the defense sphere were recorded in protocols,” Pavlovsky noted.
He added that Azerbaijan and Ukraine constantly share their experience.
“We have a permanent exchange of experience. We cooperate in the field of aviation, aircraft repair and import substitution on various components. Overall, there are about 12-15 areas of joint work,” said Pavlovsky.
He also noted that Ukraine is expecting a visit from representatives of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan in 2018.
“Next year, a visit of delegation from the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan is planned, and we are preparing to meet our colleagues,” Pavlovsky said.
Azerbaijan domestically produces various types of small arms and melee weapons, artillery, armored vehicles, various aerial bombs, unmanned aerial vehicles, various types of ammunition for small arms, including small-caliber automatic pistols, optical devices and others.
Twenty-eight military factories of Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Ministry have manufactured 1,160 kinds of defense products so far. Azerbaijan`s defense products are exported to more than 10 countries.
Azerbaijan and Ukraine enjoy sustainable prospects of bilateral relations in political, economic, energy, transport and humanitarian fields.
