The growing migration outflows from Armenia keeps affecting negatively the housing market in the country.

The number of deals concluded in real estate market has declined by 14.7 percent in June compared to May, the State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre reported.

Most Armenians are planning to sell their houses before leaving the country due to complicated social situation. But house selling has become difficult recently as there is no buyer, local media reported.

Armenia is still not able to stop the mass immigration. From 2008 to 2013, immigration rate reached to 30,000-35,000 people per year. The main reasons behind the mass migration outflows include: the deteriorated socio-economic situation, high poverty, growing unemployment rate and absence of hope for a bright future.

Local experts said that Armenians leave their homeland for a better life. "The citizens do not see any progress in Armenia. Dissatisfied with their situation, they leave Armenia for other countries to provide their families with a bright future, " they noted.

The authorities remain passive towards the nation's plight. Observers believe that the authorities are interested to see less Armenians in the country, as less people means less problems for them.

Local media believe that the authorities intrigue mass emigration from the country to prevent a possible revolution.

Now, the Armenian authorities are waiting to receive a few thousand compatriots from Holland, as the Dutch government has decided to expel illegal Armenian immigrants.

The media say, the immigrants' homecoming is vitally important for the authorities to resolve temporary the current sharp demographic problems.
