Georgia to recognize Interpol travel documents

Georgian Interior Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Interpol Secretary General Roland Nobel have signed an agreement recognising travel documents of Interpol (passports and identity cards) at the organisation's headquarters in Lyon.
Irakli Garibashvili's visit to France is taking place by the personal invitation of Secretary General of Interpol. The Georgian delegation includes the head of the National Bureau of Interpol Alexander Arakishvili and the head of administration of the Interior Ministry Tamar Taliashvili.
The Georgian minister said that this was his first visit to the headquarters of Interpol. With regard to the signed document, Garibashvili noted that the presence of Interpol travel document shown to Georgian police officers will help them make a rapid border crossing while performing their duties relating to the organisation's activities.
Nobel, In turn, announced that he is going to visit Georgia. "I received the invitation to Georgia and will go there in the near future to evaluate the country's progress," he said.
