Water richness in Azerbaijani rivers high: Ministry

The water richness reaches 130-160 percent of decade norm in rivers running in the Quba-Khachmaz region of Major Caucasus, 115-120 percent in Minor Caucasus rivers, 80-130 percent in Lankaran-Astara region rivers, the National Department for Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources reported.

Monitoring held on September 9 revealed rise of water level reached 1 centimeters in Giragkesemen settlement of Kura river. Currently water consumption holds 142 cubic meters per second in the settlement, which constitutes 116 percent of decade norm (it was 140 cubic meters per second in 2015, constituting 115 percent of the decade norm.

About 4 centimeters fall in water level has been observed in Ayrichay settlement of Qanikh River.

The water consumption holds 34.0 cubic meters per second, comprising 47 percent of the decade norm. ( 37.0 cubic meters per second in 2015, constituting 51 percent of the decade norm).

Although no change of water level has been observed in the downstream of Kura River, but it rose 9 centimeters in Surra, 13 centimeters in Novruzlu settlement of Aras, 3 centimeters in Salyan.

The water level reaches 459 centimeters (320 centimeters on September 9, 2015) in Surra settlement, 257 centimeters (120 centimeters on September 9, 2015) in Salyan, 207 centimeters (153 centimeters on September 9, 2015) in Banka, while 175 centimeters (44 centimeters on September 9, 2015) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
