Turkish culture and art in focus at international symposium in Baku

The 7th international symposium on the protection of Turkish culture, art and cultural heritage opened at Qafqaz University in Azerbaijan's capital Baku, MIRAS Social Organization in Support of Studying of Cultural Heritage said.
The symposium is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev. The event will last till June 29.
The organizers of the symposium are Selcuk University of Turkey, the Turkish center of research and development of folk art, MIRAS and Caucasus Research Institute of the Qafqaz University.
The event is attended by public figures, representatives of culture and art, and diplomatic missions.
The symposium focuses on research, conversation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the Turkic world, as well as the promotion of archaeological tourism in Turkic-speaking countries. The topics of the symposium also include rich Turkic culture, art, history and literature.
The symposium brought together scholars, historians, archaeologists, ethnographers, architects, and linguists from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Italy, Macedonia, Spain, South Korea, Egypt, Iran and other countries.
The previous symposiums were held in Turkey, Egypt, Spain and Italy.
