Children to participate in another YARAT! project

Children aged 5-13 and their parents have a chance to take part in a master class to be conducted in Baku by the Russian art studio P.T.H. at noon on Saturday.

The P.T.H art group is visiting the Azerbaijani capital as part of the Participate Baku Public Art Festival organized by YARAT! Contemporary Art Space, an organization promoting Azerbaijani modern art worldwide.

The "Fabulous Bestiary" project is distinguished by its interactive features.

Can a huge fish from a fairytale legend be brought to life using a few old newspapers, household sticky tape and a child's irrepressible imagination?

The artists from Saint Petersburg working in the genre of public art answer this question with a resounding yes! The master class will teach children how to think creatively and bring their fantasies to life using the most ordinary objects. You can come and see for yourself that a fairytale begins where children and adults join efforts to create a beautiful story making themselves and the city a little happier.

All participants are requested to bring with them some old newspapers and magazines as working material. This will help children to fully experience their contribution to creating an installation.

The master class is open to all and will take place in the Officers' Park (opposite the Circus).

Some ten artists from Azerbaijan, Russia, Georgia, Britain, Portugal, and the Netherlands created their projects especially for the Participate Baku Public Art Festival under the principle of interactivity. The festival is sponsored by Bank Respublika.

YARAT Contemporary Art Space, founded in 2011 by Aida Mahmudova, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to nurturing an understanding of contemporary art in Azerbaijan and to creating a platform for Azerbaijani art, both nationally and internationally.

Based in the capital Baku, YARAT! realizes its mission through an ongoing program of exhibitions, education events, and festivals. It facilitates dialogue and exchange between local and international artistic networks, including foundations, galleries and museums. A series of residencies further fosters opportunities for global cultural dialogue and partnerships.
