Iran refutes reports on talks with Moscow over "Antey-2500" complex
Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mahmoud-Reza Sajjadi denied recent media reports about negotiations for the supply of complex "Antey-2500" to Iran.
Earlier media reported that Tehran and Moscow are negotiating
over supply of complex "Antey-2500" in the trial of Russia's
refusal to supply Iran with S-300.
"We talked with our Russian friends on how to solve the problem
(S-300) in court. No concrete proposals on 'Antey 2500' were
offered to Iran. I refute any other information," Sajjadi said, RIA
Novosti reported.
Under a contract signed in 2007, Russia was required to provide
Iran with at least five S-300 defense systems.
Russia, however, refused to deliver the systems to Iran under the
pretext that they are covered by the fourth round of the UN
Security Council resolutions against Iran.
Iran has filed a complaint against Rosoboronexport in the
International Court of Arbitration in Geneva.
