Aliyev orders to organize world intercultural forum in Azerbaijan
BAKU – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on organizing the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Azerbaijan, the president's website reported. Under the order, starting from 2011, the forum will be held in Azerbaijan every two years.
The order says that the forum was held in Azerbaijan on April 7-9, attended by the representatives of 102 states and over 10 international organizations. The main goal of the forum was to consider certain aspects of intercultural dialogue in modern societies characterized by diversity and pluralism, and to encourage it at local, regional and global levels.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan was defined as a coordinating agency in organizing the forum.
The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to submit to the President the proposals on the organization of the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Azerbaijan within two months.
