China remains Iran ’s main trade partner in 2015

Iran exported 6.7 million metric tons of non-oil goods, worth $2.1 billion to China during the first quarter of 2015.

Iran’s non-oil exports to China witnessed a fall of 5.5 percent in terms of value, meanwhile the volume of the Islamic Republic’s non-oil exports to China decreased by 38.7 percent, according to Iranian Customs Administration latest monthly report published May 5.

China was the main importer of Iranian goods in the mentioned period. Beijing ’s imports accounted for 22.13 percent of Iran ’s total non-oil exports in terms of value and 36.3 percent in terms of volume.

After China, Iraq (with $1.44 billion), the UAE (with $1.2 billion), India ($736 million) and Turkey (with $389 million) were the other four biggest importers of Iranian goods.

The five countries imported 67.8 percent of Iran ’s total non-oil exports in terms of value in the first three months of the current year.

The UAE's imports from Iran indicate an increase by 27.87 percent, meanwhile the Islamic Republic’s exports to Turkey and India has witnessed a rise by 58.95 percent and 56.92 percent respectively.

Iran's exports to Iraq also witnessed a fall by one percent during the period in comparison with the first quarter of 2014.

Tehran’s non-oil exports (excluding condensates) surpassed $9.1 billion during the first quarter of 2015, indicating an increase by 12.75 percent year on year.

Iran’s overall non-oil trade turn over stood at $21.18 billion in the mentioned period.
