Kazakhstan, Belarus mull defense coop
Kazakh Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov met with Chairman
of the Belarusian State Military-Industrial Committee Sergei
Gurulev on October 3, the Kazakh Ministry reported.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral
cooperation in the military-technical sphere.
They noted that the Kazakh-Belarusian subcommittee on
military-technical cooperation worked successfully and that this
body promotes the development of bilateral relations in the
field.
Zhaksybekov said that the Kazakh Defense Ministry is ready to
enhance cooperation with Belarusian defense industry
enterprises.
"We are interested in creation of joint Kazakh-Belarusian
enterprises in our country," he said.
Moreover, the parties discussed issues of further maintenance of
Kazakh armed forces' aircraft in the Belarusian enterprises, and a
new Aviation and Technical Center which will be created in
Astana.
