Production of oil products ups in eastern Turkmenistan

The Turkmen Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry reported that the oil refinery plant at Seidi, located in the Eastern region of the Lebap province, reached high levels of oil product production in the first seven months of 2013.

'The volume of the refined raw material amounted to over 312,000 tons since early 2013', the report reads.

The figures for the first seven months of 2013 significantly exceed those of 2012.

Over 156,000 tons of straight-run gasoline, over 156,000 tons of diesel fuel, as well as over 59,000 tons of heavy fuel was produced here.

The major volume of oil in Turkmenistan is refined at the Balkan province at an oil refinery located in Turkmenbashi, the country's largest enterprise.

Turkmenistan plans to bring the capacity of the oil refinery industry to 15 million tons of oil per year by 2015, to 20 million tons of oil in 2020, to 22 million tons in 2015 and 30 million tons in 2030. This will be achieved at the expense of construction of three new oil refineries and modernisation of current enterprises including Turkmenbashi and Seidi.
